How do institutions cope with APL?

This assembly will explore how higher education institutions (HEIs) could be better equipped to facilitate and attract learners via the accreditation of prior learning (APL) route. The use of technology to facilitate the APL process will be discussed. A previous TELSTAR Assembly highlighted some of the issues between HEIs and APEL which included the need to provide flexible frameworks, institutional policies, transparency and support for staff and students alike. These issues will be expanded on by questioning how they are being, or how they could be, overcome. Best practice amongst various institutions that are addressing these issues will be shared and participants will explore the issues in small groups.
